Chesapeake cops reacted to the soccer fields at Centerville Park on Saturday morning in the wake of getting reports of shots heard close by.
Officials reacted to the fields around 11:26 a.m. In an email, Chesapeake Police Department criminal investigator Michael Hilton said the shots sounded “close sufficient that individuals at the fields set down on the ground to try not to be hit.”
Observers at the fields, which incorporated an off the clock cop, detailed finding out about 15 shots. Witnesses said the shots “seemed like they were coming from a distance away and were potentially ricochets,” as indicated by Hilton’s email.
